Summer Fun Jar!

My good friend emailed me this link which I thought was amazing. However, I'm convinced the woman that put that project together must have more hours in the day than I do (or maybe just utilizes them better.) At any rate, I had Cambrie sit down and sift through the activities and add some of our own. Then she typed them out for me. All I had to do was print, cut, fold, and stuff in this jar. Voila! Our own Summer Fun Jar in a fraction of the time. I think we'll probably pick about 3 activities every Sunday so that we have time to make arrangements or get supplies if needed to do those activities that week. Most of them are no or very low cost ideas, but just something to keep us active, creative and having fun together this summer. I may even rig it a few times so that certain activities can fall where I want them too. :)
I also made a new chore chart for the summer. We told the kids that if they could continue reading, practicing piano, making bed, cleaning well, etc. during the summer months, they could pick their own reward. They all decided they would like to go to Utah for some fun with friends. I made out the chart complete with daily and weekly chores, but we'll see how that works before I post a picture of it. I'm also trying to get it laminated so it's not destroyed right off. It might turn out to be too complex, but any help is better than none. I told Jason that I was subbing out my jobs to the kids for the summer. I figured that was lingo he would understand. Maybe I should just have the kids start calling me the 'General.'
