Victor Holiday Festival

Today was the Annual Victor Holiday Festival.  The highlight for the kids was the live nativity.  They LoVeD the animals, but couldn't figure out why the people were just sitting there (Mary & Joseph).  Now they've all decided they want to get an Alpaca.  Probably a little difficult, even for Santa (at least we hope so).
The kids have been wearing their Santa hats pretty much non-stop since we took them out of the storage boxes.  Apparently the Alpaca was a big fan because he started nibbling on the ear on Tatum's hat.  She thought that was just hilarious.

After the Nativity, we headed over to Timberline for the baked potatoe bar & sugar cookies.  They had A Christmas Story playing on the big screen.  The kids devoured the taters and put away a couple cookies each.
Outside waiting for the Light Parade to start.  The kids loved it.  It was quite a bit bigger this year, and one of the floats was throwing glow sticks.

After the parade they hopped up through the sun roof to get a better view of the fireworks.

Cambrie!
The whole fam.

All this fun and we were still home by 6:30pm so we could watch the Santa Claus.

Number Four!

My 4th event was the Tin Cup Challenge in Driggs.  Jason and I both ran.  He had the kids with him and did the 5k.  I ran the 10k. We love the Tin Cup.  It is an amazing community event to raise money for the local non-profit organizations.  The kids loved all the fun activities they had after the run.

For the 2nd annual bike to school day we joined the group at Pioneer Park, then the kids were led over to the school. Tatum and Jake were so excited to be able to ride with the BIG kids.

Victor Light Parade

Another year enjoying the Victor light parade and the fireworks. We were surprised that it seemed quite a bit longer this year, or maybe just colder. We love how the parade goes down main street then turns around and heads back. Luckily the Emporium had hot chocolate to warm us all up.

Monica, Jason and Abby were visiting for the weekend.

2 years in Victor!

Hard to believe, but it's been 2 years since we moved to Victor. At times it seems impossible that 2 years have already passed and then at other times it feels like we've been here forever. At any rate, I wanted to get our annual picture in front of the sign.

Like last year, we feel that our lives have been filled with many wonderful blessings. We have great neighbors and friends and our children are fortunate to have amazing teachers and friends as well. We're continually trying to enjoy our life in the country as we learn to embrace and enjoy the simple pleasures life has to offer. It's been quite fun. We love being outside exploring, hiking, playing and learning about our surroundings, and what wonderful surroundings they are.

Our yard even had flowers this year~we were so excited. You can't see them in this picture, but we even had California Poppies in the back. Maybe about 10 years from now, you may see trees in pictures of our yard. But for now, we're happy to play in the flowers and weeds.

Huckleberry'n

In my short time in the Teton Valley, I've come to realize that summer here would not be summer without huckleberries. We take the kids, but are still working on getting them to actually pick and not eat all the berries. This year, we laughed like crazy when we turned to see Jake feeding them to Hershey. She must have really liked them, because soon after she starting eating them straight from the bush.

We've been told by many natives, that we' don't have the proper gear for picking, but somehow we seem to manage.
Tatum smiling because she knows the berries will soon become home-made huckleberry ice cream or jam.

Trail Ride

While the Howards and Brophys were visiting, we thought it would be fun to take the older kids (and the really older kids) on a trail ride. Greg Bagley took our whole crazy group and we had an awesome time. I think Cambrie was born to have horses, she was just glowing all day.
Here is some of the group heading down the trail after overlooking the entire Valley.
Stopping for a sip of water!

Jason, Katie, Emma & Ellie Howard
Jason as always kept us all laughing.

All the cowgirlies!
Jason stayed home with the little people (Jake, Mason, Mariah and Matthew). He was quite adventurous and took them all fishing and on a 4wheeler ride.

Happy 4th of July!

We love the 4th in Victor. We spent the day at the parade, playing outside and then doing fireworks with friends. It was a great day and the kids made quite the haul during the parade.Jason with Jake and Ava!
