1st Annual Boat Race

I've decided that the title of my blog should actually be, "Every Other Week . . . A New Adventure", since that's about how often I actually post these days, but nevertheless, we have been having a great summer. I wanted to post this adventure because it really was a fun day for the kids, and I figured maybe if I document it, we'll actually remember to have a 2nd Annual Boat Race next year. On the weekend of the 4th, Jason took the kids out and helped them decorate boats so they could have boat races down our stream. They used paint, glitter, markers, everything! Anyway, after they dried, they set out to have their first race. Cambrie headed up closer to the house to start them, and Jake and Tatum waited at the bridge which was the finish line. There was so much anticipation and excitement as the boats creeped down the stream. We've definitely taken notes for future improvements. Well, the challenge is out there. Feel free to bring your boats next year. As Jason says, "Everything in life is a competition!" so come prepared!
