Birthday Fun!

Tatum had her big day all planned out. Of course her birthday wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe.
Here are the kids at the Cocoa Bean. Look at those delicious cupcakes. The kids all wanted the Grasshopper. My Mom and I tried the Smore's Cupcake. They were scrumptious.

Tatum wanted to go to lunch at Wendy's. The lady working there saw her Birthday Girl shirt so she gave her a balloon (of course Tatum was ecstatic) and some ice cream with cookies on top.
Jake was lovin' all the birthday food too.
Cambrie diggin' into her Grasshopper.

Coach Pitch Softball!

I've already posted pictures of Tatum playing T Ball, but didn't get many pictures of Cambrie this year because I was one of the coaches. Luckily a friend snapped a picture of her after she got to 1st base at one of the last games and another friend took this picture of Cambrie and I when she was doing the team photos. Cambrie really enjoyed softball this year and I actually preferred coaching to being a spectator. The games seemed to pass much more quickly that way.

Summer Fun Jar!

My good friend emailed me this link which I thought was amazing. However, I'm convinced the woman that put that project together must have more hours in the day than I do (or maybe just utilizes them better.) At any rate, I had Cambrie sit down and sift through the activities and add some of our own. Then she typed them out for me. All I had to do was print, cut, fold, and stuff in this jar. Voila! Our own Summer Fun Jar in a fraction of the time. I think we'll probably pick about 3 activities every Sunday so that we have time to make arrangements or get supplies if needed to do those activities that week. Most of them are no or very low cost ideas, but just something to keep us active, creative and having fun together this summer. I may even rig it a few times so that certain activities can fall where I want them too. :)
I also made a new chore chart for the summer. We told the kids that if they could continue reading, practicing piano, making bed, cleaning well, etc. during the summer months, they could pick their own reward. They all decided they would like to go to Utah for some fun with friends. I made out the chart complete with daily and weekly chores, but we'll see how that works before I post a picture of it. I'm also trying to get it laminated so it's not destroyed right off. It might turn out to be too complex, but any help is better than none. I told Jason that I was subbing out my jobs to the kids for the summer. I figured that was lingo he would understand. Maybe I should just have the kids start calling me the 'General.'

Other happenings. . .

Jason was out of town the other night so I let all the kids sleep in my bed. When I went in to go to bed, this is what I found. Jake-man is quite the cuddler and loves to be right next to someone when he sleeps. I thought this picture was pretty priceless.
We took a new picture today and one of the baby robins has hatched. Yea!

Last day of 2nd Grade!

Yesterday Cambrie's school had a Walk-a-thon to earn money for their library. Here she is with a few friends from her class.
The last morning of school.

Cambrie with Mrs. Eskeli! Such an amazing teacher.
Mrs. Eskeli gave each of the students a medallion describing them. Cambrie's was that she is good at making friends.

All done with Kindergarten!

For the last day of school, Tatum's class learned a song called 'Bye, Bye Kindergarten'. They sang it to the tune of Baa, Baa Black Sheep.
After the singing, they received their diplomas.

Having a celebratory cupcake and her last chocolate milk as a kindergartner.

With her teacher Miss Kennedy! She is awesome! Tatum loved her.

Yea, summer here we come!

Tatum's Field Day!

Tatum was so excited to have her very own Kindergarten Field Day. They did all sorts of fun activities.
They had a relay race where they had to fill an empty bucket with water using a sponge.

Here she is jumping with a bean bag between her knees.
Of course you've gotta have the potato sack race.
And the bean bag toss.

Here's Tater!
