Something we did quite often when I was little was head downtown to feed the birds! I've tried to keep this going with my own kids. We headed down to 1st Street loaded with bags of bread.
Jake loved letting a bunch of birds gather around him, then he would chase them off laughing all the while.
We also headed to the Benicia Fire Department. Jake, like most boys, is obsessed with fire trucks. My parents thought he would enjoy going to the local fire station. The guys there were great. They let the kids climb up in the cab and pretend like they were driving. Jake was hesitant at first, but before long he was in heaven.
